Cambridge, Mass.—UMBC senior attackman Scott Jones (Port Coquitlam, B .C./Terry Fox) has been named America East Conference co-Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Jones shares the award with Binghamton's Matt Springer.
Jones produced a career-best six goals, seven points and five
ground balls in UMBC's 19-6 victory over Vermont. He opened the
scoring with a man-down goal, UMBC's first of the season, added one
man-up goal and scored five of his six goals in the first
A team captain, Jones just became the 30th Retriever to hit the 100-point plateau, now with 104 total points (86-18-104). He now has 16 career games with three or more goals.
Jones leads UMBC and ranks sixth among league leaders averaging 2.9 points per game (29) and fourth averaging 2.5 goals per contest (25).
