Moon Township, PA--UMBC scored four unanswered goals in the second half, overcoming a pair of two-goal deficits and gaining a 5-4 win over NEC foe Robert Morris. The win was the fifth straight for UMBC (6-5 overall), which improved to 5-2 in the conference. UMBC fell behind, 2-0, in the first 7:40 before freshman reserve Lauren Cunningham put UMBC on the board at the 34:47 mark. But RMC tallied again just three minutes into the second half to recapture a two-goal lead. Then, Laura Motley began the UMBC run with a score at 58:11 and two-time NEC Rookie of the Week Missy Moore tied the game after a misplay by the Robert Morris goalkeeper at 69:17. Sophomore Jessa Karko provided UMBC with the lead at 81:08, as she headed in Cunningham's cross from the left hand side. Less than two minutes later, Cunningham added an insurance goal, which UMBC would need as the Colonials scored with 3:12 to play. Cunningham had two goals and an assist, while Moore had one of each. Becky Hicock weathered the RMC storm, making 4 saves in the victory. The Retrievers head to St. Francis (PA) for a match on Sunday.
