Baltimore, Md.-- UMBC track and field will head back to Staten Island for the Fastrack National Invite on Friday for the final tune-up before the America East Championships in a week in Boston. The Retrievers are coming off yet another strong performance at the UAlbany Winter Classic last weekend.

Last Time Out (UAlbany Winter Classic):

-On the women's side, Bridgett Redding was the top individual finisher with her fourth-place finish in the 1,000m in a time of 2:58.11. Briana Roberts finished tenth in the event in 2:59.98. Melissa Kameka and Ayanna Johnson finished ten-eleven in the 500m with times of 1:17.88 and 1:17.96 respectively.

-Morgan Casey and Collese Daley also turned in top times in the mile and 400m races.  Casey finished the mile in 5:03.92 with Daley completing the 400m in 58.68. The 4x400m relay team of Ariella Garcia, Melissa Kameka, Samantha Kameka, and Chelsea Umezurkie took third in a time of 3:56.18.

In the field, Eleni Zotou led the way with an 11th place finish in the weight throw at 15.78m.

-On the men's side, Joel Evans had the lone top ten individual finish with his fourth-place finish in the 1,000m in a time of 2:24.51. Trenson Terry had a pair of 19th place finishes in the 60m hurdles (8.80) and the 200m (22.31). Taheer Pierce finished the 200m in 15th place with a time of 22.25.

-In the field, Maurice Johnson and Andrew Haberman earned top-ten finishes in the shot put and weight throw. Johnson took eighth in the shot put with his toss of 14.63m. Haberman finished ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 15.71m. Divinus Muteba and Rodney Sachiti also had strong showings in the high jump (15th, 1.90m) and long jump (16th, 6.58m) respectively.

-The Retrievers will look to capture the America East title at the conference championships next Friday and Saturday in Boston. The two-day meet kicks off Friday at 10 a.m. from the Boston University Track & Tennis Center, with live coverage streaming on AmericaEast. TV.
