Ferketic’s Career Day Leads Volleyball to Sweep at Binghamton

Vestal, N.Y.. -- Freshman Emily Ferketic (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had a career-high 10 kills and nine blocks to help lead the UMBC Volleyball team to a road sweep (25-13, 25-15, 28-26) of BInghamton to conclude the 2019 season on Sunday. 

Seniors Brooke Hayden (Mt.Airy, Md.) and Franchesca Reed (Aurora, Colo.) each played well in the final match of their collegiate career, Hayden had a match-best 15 digs, while Reed finished with six kills and nine blocks. 

Kamni Conteh (New Castle, Del.) paced the Retriever offense with a match-best 13 kills on .476 hitting, with four digs and three blocks. Carmen Freeman (Memphis, Tenn.) tallied 10 kills, six digs and three blocks. 

Taylor Dunn (Virginia Beach, Va.) led all players with 37 assists and added seven digs and two blocks. Niki Khoshatefeh (Temecula, Calif.) had three kills and four blocks, while Paige Krenik (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) added eight digs. 

UMBC concludes the season at 7-16, including 4-6 in America East play and finished in a tie for fourth place in the conference.
